Ronald is a partner in the banking and finance group of Haya Rashed Al Khalifa. Ronald’s extensive finance background covers a wide range of banking and finance transactions that spans through various jurisdictions. His expertise includes capital markets, securities offerings, corporate restructurings, repackagings, leveraged transactions, syndicated lending, Islamic finance, structured finance products, fund-linked transactions, derivatives and prime brokerage related transactions. Ronald also has extensive experience in general corporate and commercial transactional and regulatory issues.
Ronald joined Haya Rashed Al Khalifa Attorneys in 2009. He previously worked for Maples and Calder, Cayman Islands and prior to that he was a senior associate at Ashurst, London. In both roles he regularly represented and advised leading investment banks, hedge funds, corporate clients and other financial institutions in structuring and negotiating complex international and domestic finance transactions. In addition to this thorough background, Ronald has also worked as in-house counsel for prominent investment banks, such as, UBS AG, London, Mizuho International plc, London and UFJ International plc, London, where he advised on a broad range of structured finance, prime brokerage and capital market products.
Prior to becoming a Solicitor, Ronald qualified as a Barrister at the Honorable Society of Gray’s Inn in England and worked at the Chambers of Antonio Bueno QC, a Chancery and Commercial Set at 5 Paper Building, London. Ronald has also been a member of numerous consultation working groups, including, ISDA and the Bahrain Economic Development Board working group on Funds.
