Nabeel holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A. Hons) majoring
in Law and Business Administration with Honours from
Oxford Brookes University, U.K. (1990) and also holds
a Master in Commercial Law (L.L.M) specialising in
Banking and Corporate Law from the University of Bristol,
U.K (1994) as well as a Post Graduate Diploma in Banking,
Corporate, Insurance and Sales Laws from the University
of Bristol, U.K. (1993).
Nabeel was admitted as a lawyer in Bahrain in 1991.
Nabeel has been admitted to both the Court of Cassation
and the Constitutional Court of Bahrain and is a member
of the Bahrain Bar Association.
Nabeel is a seasoned Lawyer with extensive legal
experience in commercial, financial and banking laws
both in the Islamic and conventional banks. Prior
to joining Haya Rashed Al Khalifa Law Firm, Nabeel
was General Legal Counsel to Gulf Finance House, one
of the major Islamic Investment Banks in the Middle
East. He was General Legal Counsel at Gulf Finance
House from its inception in 1999 until 2004.
Nabeel also previously held the position of Director
in the Arab Asian Advisors Co. where he principally
handled M&A activities, Corporate Restructuring
and arranging Islamically Structured Finance. Prior
to that he was the Head of the Legal Affairs Unit
at the BMA where he handled regulatory matters. He
was also a Legal Advisor at the Ministry of Finance
and National Economy where he advised and negotiated
various contracts for the Government of the Kingdom
Of Bahrain and was Legal Advisor on a secondment basis
to a number of Ministries and Bahraini Companies whilst
with the Ministry.
Nabeel has lectured on Law at the University of Bahrain,
the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance and the
Qatar Institute for Banking and Finance.
Nabeel is fluent in Arabic, English and Farsi.
